Fierce slumber party
There's always something somewhat exciting and anxious when a band stays over while on tour. You really never know whats going to happen - will I wake up to find groupies laying around all over the living room floor in various states of undress...is the toilet going to be clogged up due to alcohol vomiting...will there be an impromtu concert in the kitchen.
Apprerently no, no and no. Jenny and phillip of sanawon (actually, THEY are sanawon since there's only 2 of them. That still constitutes a band right? The white stripes, the carpenters...yea, 2 is still considered a band. The captain and tennile, not so much I guess) were on their "visit poon in LA" tour (actually I made up that name since they had no name) so I offered to let them stay at my apt. Martin of giant robot introduced us about a year ago and since my place comes with a bacon and fried rice breakfast, they took me up on my offer.
Fortunately or unfortunately, nothing really crazy happend but I do get to hear stories about their tour; who makes bad audiences (college gigs ar good because they pay you regardless of who shows up. all ages clubs bad because kids want them to buy alcohol) which bands make bad house guests (just in general, if you break something in the house that you're staying at, you ought to tell the host and not try to hide it. Which is probably a good rule for anyone) and what porn stars work at what hotel. This was like vh1 behind the music except sanowan isn't washed up or dead. Or throwing up in my bathroom.
