Need ride from LA to SF...

miss world!

My name is not brett favre so I'll never hear the crowd chant my name out at a sold out lambeau field football stadium. But my cousin and our friends from work was yelling out to me from the other side of the phone line - "poon, POON!! poon!", to come visit san francisco...for a free steak dinner....the next day.

A plane ride would cost me close to 300.00 pieces of guda while the train ride from los angeles to san francisco would take 10 hours. And since I didn't wanna drive, things were looking grim. But fortunately, there was craig's list. Rideshare. One step above hitchhiking. Sure, why the hell not. Three strangers in a car, how bad could it be. As long as no one was singing show tunes, I was game...

. Driver was a white phd student who found enlightenment 2 years ago in eastern indian spirituality. That meant listening to his meditation chant cds while he sang along. Ok, maybe show tunes wouldn't have been so bad.

. Oddly enough, we went to pick up an eastern indian kid when the driver says, "I hope he doesn't smell". I'm going "whoa".

. We get pulled over by an officer for speeding. Driver claims we weren't speeding. Err, if you pass people up at 80 mph in the city, you're speeding man.

. The driver tries to make conversation with the indian guy since they share what he thinks is a cultural bond. The indian kid keeps telling him, I was born in germany, I really don't know who aishwara rai is. And stop asking him about the song which is in hindi. He already told you he speaks punjabi.

. And somewhere along the trip, the eastern indian kid goes, "yea I don't like homo's either". Wha..wha...what?!!!! Oh man, we are not getting to sf fast enough.

. We go through the drive thru window for a quick lunch which we eat in the car parked outside. Isn't that the worst of both worlds? To relive this awesome experience, we drive thru again for dessert.

7 hours later, we finally get to san francisco. Damn I think...is any steak dinner worth all this?
